Getting Involved

On the 2nd and 3rd Wednesday of every month a Volunteer team led by The National Trust meets at Simon’s Wood or Finchampstead Ridges. Recently we have opened up the views on the Ridges, cleared invasive species from the heathland, created a more open woodland and planted extensive hedging.

Our tasks are many and varied and include heathland management, Rhododendron and small tree removal normally with accompanying bonfires. We also undertake a wide variety of maintenance tasks on the infrastructure such as the installation of footbridges and boardwalks.

New Volunteer Requests: We welcome new volunteers so please do contact us to register your interest, however, at present the National Trust Rangers are currently unable to process new enquiries but rest assured we will be in contact with you as soon as these circumstances change. Thank you
